Course Summary
Infants and young children experience trauma and adversity, and it happens right here in Colorado. This course is designed to equip you with knowledge, tools, and insights to support infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in the community care setting. It covers various types of trauma and their short and long-term consequences. Additionally, you'll gain practical experience in recognizing signs and symptoms of trauma in infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand that trauma impacts infants and young children.
- Identify the signs and symptoms of trauma in infants and young children.
- Prepare to complete thorough screenings for trauma in infants and young children.

The learners for this training are behavioral health service providers, social workers, counselors, peer support specialists, and other professionals who support individuals with substance use and behavioral health conditions.
