Course Summary

An overview of what Home and Community Based Services are, who is eligible for them, how and where they can be provided, and why they are a valuable part of the care continuum for those with behavioral health conditions.


Learning Objectives

Upon completing this material, learners will be able to:

  1. Gain awareness about the full array of Health First Colorado HCBS benefits​.
  2. Learn how to identify individuals who are eligible for HCBS services. ​
  3. Consider which HCBS service options are appropriate for those served by their organization. ​
  4. Consider which HCBS services might be appropriate for their organization to offer based on: ​
    • The needs of those served.​
    • HCBS workforce and administrative requirements options. ​
    • Availability of Peer Support Specialists, Community Health Workers (CHWs), and other BH Workforce Extenders able to provide HCBS services​.
