Behavioral Health Care Navigator Credential Foundations

Course Summary

This course will lay the foundation for behavioral health care navigation. People completing this training will learn the basic knowledge and skills associated with care navigation allowing them to serve in the role of care navigators. This will include developing an understanding of the role of care navigation in the behavioral health system, recognizing the purpose and impact of care navigation for Coloradans, and gaining familiarity with the fundamental roles and responsibilities of a care navigator. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a certificate of course completion.

 


Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  1. Identify and apply foundational knowledge and skills needed in care navigation.
  2. Determine actions care navigators take to support Coloradans in crisis, provide referrals and resources, and streamline communication.
  3. Create a job aid with care navigator competencies for future use when seeking employment and when working as a care navigator.

 


Learning Audience

The learners for this training are high school graduates and people with AA degrees, people with advanced degrees or who are in roles similar to care navigators, and people who are in roles that would hire care navigators.
