The ASAM Model
The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria is the most widely used and comprehensive set of standards for level of care recommendations, continued service, and care transitions for individuals with addiction and co-occurring conditions. This course is designed to equip participants with a well-rounded understanding of the ASAM criteria model, encompassing its historical context, evidence-based effectiveness, practical implementation, and insights from experienced practitioners. This course is based on the 3rd edition of the ASAM criteria. Colorado is required to implement the 4th edition by 2026.
